고양특례시가 이상기후에 대응하고 농업 생산성을 극대화하기 위해 도입한 ‘수직형 스마트팜 시범사업’이 농업 현장의 혁신 모델로 큰 주목을 받고 있다.

이번 사업은 시가 2024년 경기도농업기술원 공모사업에 선정된 후, 올해 농업산·학협동심의회를 거쳐 ㈜그링그링농업회사법인을 보조사업자로 최종 선정하며 본궤도에 올랐다.
일산서구 법곳동 농지에 조성된 이 시설은 컨테이너형 구조물 내부에 스마트 환경제어 시스템을 갖추고 있어, 기능성 엽채류를 1년 내내 안정적으로 생산할 수 있다.
이번 시범사업은 경제적 파급효과도 뚜렷할 전망이다.
시는 스마트팜 운영·관리 및 재배·유통 분야에서 약 10명의 신규 일자리가 창출될 것으로 보고 있다.
특히 기존 재배 방식보다 품질이 균일하고 폐기율이 적어 참여 농가의 소득이 기존 대비 약 23.6% 증가할 것으로 기대된다.
보조사업자로 참여한 이재광 대표는 “농지에 수직농장을 도입하는 것은 농업인에게 큰 도전이었지만, 시의 체계적인 행정 지원 덕분에 새로운 경영 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다”고 전했다.
고양시는 올해 상반기 동안 버터헤드, 바타비아 상추 등 고급 유러피안 엽채류의 생육 데이터를 축적해 재배 기술을 고도화할 방침이다.
