[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 산청군은 2027년 공공미축미 매입품종 선정심의회를 개최하고 매입품종으로 ‘미소진품’과 ‘아람’을 선정했다고 3일 밝혔다.
이번 심의회는 농업기술센터와 농산물품질관리원, 농협 관계자, 농업인단체 대표, 쌀생산자단체 대표 등 참석해 품종별 특성, 재배 적합성 등을 종합적으로 검토했다.
앞서 산청군은 품종선정을 위하여 전 읍면 생산농가의 매입품종 선호도 조사를 먼저 실시하고 다양한 의견을 수렴했으며 정부의 방침에 따라 다수확 품종과 외래품종은 매입품종 선정에서 제외했다.
이번 선정된 ‘미소진품’과 ‘아람’은 중만생종으로 아밀로스 함량이 낮아 찰기가 많고 차진 식감으로 미질이 좋아 밥맛이 우수하며 잎마름병 등 내병해성이 강하다.
산청군 관계자는 “이번 품종 선정은 농업인들에게 안정적인 생산 환경을 제공하고, 공공비축미로서의 품질과 경제적 가치를 증대시킬 것"이라며, “농민들이 다양한 지원을 통해 안정적인 농업을 영위할 수 있도록 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 밝혔다.
