[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 함안군은 관내 고등학교의 교육 경쟁력을 높이기 위해 추진하고 있는 ‘명품고 육성사업’을 바탕으로 2026학년도 대학입시에서 지역 고등학교들이 전반적으로 우수한 성과를 거두고 있다고 5일 밝혔다.
군은 관내 고등학교 5곳을 대상으로 학생 수와 교육 여건, 대학입시 성과 등을 종합적으로 고려해 교육경비를 차등 지원하고 있다.
2025년에는 모두 6억 5400만 원의 교육경비를 지원해 학교별 맞춤형 교육과 학생 역량 강화를 뒷받침했다.
이러한 지원 성과로 칠원고는 2026학년도 대학입시에서 서울대학교 4명을 비롯 한국과학기술원(KAIST), 포항공과대학교, 고려대학교, 연세대학교 등 수도권 주요 대학에 다수의 합격자를 배출했다.
또한 부산대학교 18명과 경북대학교 2명을 포함해 지방거점국립대에 모두 35명이 합격하는 등 지역 인재 양성 측면에서도 의미 있는 성과를 보였다.
현재 정시 추가 합격 절차가 진행 중으로, 최종 합격자 수는 더 늘어날 것으로 기대된다.
아울러 군은 장학재단으로 학업 성적이 우수한 학생과 예체능 분야에 재능이 있는 학생, 학교 밖 청소년 등을 대상으로 장학금을 지원하며 지역 인재 육성과 교육 기회 확대에 힘쓰고 있다.
함안군 관계자는 “이번 성과는 학교와 학생, 학부모의 노력에 군의 꾸준한 교육 지원이 더해져 이뤄진 결과다”며 “앞으로도 관내 모든 고등학교가 각자의 강점을 살려 교육 경쟁력을 높일 수 있도록 명품고 육성사업과 장학 지원을 계속해 나가겠다”고 전했다.
