【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 증평군이 전국 평생교육 관계자들이 한자리에 모인 워크숍에서 증평형 지역평생교육 활성화 사례를 공유하며 주목받았다.
군은 지난 4~5일 제주 국제컨벤션센터에서 열린 ‘2026 전국 지역평생교육 관계자 워크숍’에서‘연결과 혁신의 시대, 지역이 주도하는 평생학습’을 주제로 발표했다.
이번 워크숍은 교육부가 주최하고, 국가평생교육진흥원과 제주평생교육장학진흥원이 주관한 행사로 전국 시·도평생교육진흥원 및 평생학습도시 관계자 등 300여 명이 참여했다.
이날 발표자로 나선 최창영 증평군 미래기획실장은 스토리텔링형 평생학습 인물 ‘대기만성의 전형 김득신’ 발굴을 통한 평생학습도시 및 장애인평생학습도시 지정과 프로그램 운영 사례를 소개했다.
또 평생학습과 돌봄 · 아카이빙(Archiving) · 교육발전특구 · 시군역량강화 등 다양한 사업 간 연결과 혁신 사례를 제시하며 증평만의 독특한 평생교육 모델을 설명했다.
이와 함께 △지역 군부대와 함께하는 평생학습 △평생학습과 교육지원청의 온마을배움터 △군립도서관 북페스티벌과 연계한 삼위일체형 배움누리 3행(동행, 여행, 비행)축제 사례도 소개해 참석자들로부터 호평을 받았다.
한편, 군은 지난해 평생학습도시 재지정 평가에서 전국 우수 학습도시로 선정됐으며, 2년 연속 장애인평생학습도시에 선정된 바 있다.

Jeungpyeong County, North Chungcheong Province, garnered attention at a workshop attended by lifelong education officials from across the country, sharing examples of Jeungpyeong-style regional lifelong education revitalization.
At the "2026 National Regional Lifelong Education Officials Workshop," held at the Jeju International Convention Center on May 4th and 5th, the county presented on the topic, "The Era of Connection and Innovation: Locally Led Lifelong Learning."
The workshop, hosted by the Ministry of Education and organized by the National Institute for Lifelong Education and the Jeju Lifelong Education Scholarship Promotion Agency, brought together approximately 300 participants, including representatives from city and provincial lifelong education agencies and lifelong learning cities across the country.
Choi Chang-young, Director of the Future Planning Office of Jeungpyeong County, presented the case of designating a lifelong learning city and a lifelong learning city for the disabled and its program management through the identification of "Kim Deuk-shin, the epitome of a storytelling-based lifelong learning figure."
