세종시가 5일부터 13일까지 고려대학교 세종캠퍼스 RISE센터, 한중일3국협력사무국과 함께 ‘2026년 청년대사 프로그램’을 운영한다.
이날 시에 따르면 청년대사 프로그램은 한국·중국·일본 청년 간의 우호를 증진하고, 동북아시아의 평화와 공동 번영에 기여할 차세대 인재 양성을 위해 마련됐다.
3개국에서 16명씩 총 48명으로 구성된 한중일 청년대사는 이날 시청에서 열린 청년대사 프로그램 개회식을 시작으로 첫 일정을 수행했다.
개회식에서는 한중일 청년대사들과 국제기구 주요 인사들이 글로벌 리더십 대화를 통해 동아시아 평화와 협력을 이뤄낼 수 있는 국제 현안을 논의했다.
한중일 청년대사는 추후 일정에서 ▲3국 전·현직 대사와의 대화 ▲외교·국제기구 등 전문가와의 커리어 토크 ▲지방정부 차원의 국제교류 활성화 방안 토론 등의 활동을 펼칠 예정이다.
또, 세종전통문화체험관에서 세종만의 역사와 문화를, 한국토지주택공사 홍보관에서 도시개발과 스마트시티 혁신 과정을 체험한다.
마지막으로 자율주행 빅데이터 관제센터를 찾아 첨단 미래산업 현장을 살펴보며 실질적인 배움의 기회를 가질 계획이다.
최 시장은 “한중일 청년들이 각자의 국가에서 미래의 지도자이자 글로벌 전문가로 도약해 나가기를 바란다”며 “세종에서 맺은 소중한 인연이 앞으로도 우리 시와의 활발한 교류와 협력으로 이어지길 기대한다”고 말했다.
