【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=영진전문대학교가 2025학년도 학위수여식을 개최하고, 총 2,675명의 졸업생을 사회로 배출했다.
대구 북구 복현캠퍼스 국제세미나실에서 6일 오전 열린 제48회 학위수여식에는 최재영 총장을 비롯해 교직원, 졸업생 가족 등 다양한 내외빈이 참석해 졸업생들의 앞날을 축하했다.
이번 학위수여식에서는 전문학사 2,185명, 학사 463명, 전문기술석사 27명 등 총 2,675명이 학위를 받았다. 학사 과정 중에는 간호학과 졸업생 137명과 전공심화과정 이수자 326명이 포함됐다.
이날 행사는 학사보고를 시작으로 학위증서 및 상장 수여, 총장 회고사, 졸업생 대표 답사, 교가 제창 순서로 진행됐다. 졸업생 대표 답사는 권용만(반도체전자계열 전문학사), 김채연(정밀기계공학과 전문기술석사) 씨가 맡았다.
올해도 학업 성과가 두드러졌다. 전체 수석은 4학기 연속 전 과목 만점(4.5점)을 기록한 김태현(DIY실내장식과) 씨가 차지했으며, 전공심화과정 수석에는 호텔외식관광학과 오카이치 마유코 씨가 이름을 올렸다. 두 학생은 각각 재단이사장상을 받았다.
졸업생들의 다양한 진로 성과도 이목을 끌었다. 컴퓨터정보계열 일본IT과를 졸업한 남가현(26) 씨는 일본의 케이블TV 대기업 제이콤에 합격, 오는 4월 네트워크 엔지니어로 입사할 예정이다. 남 씨는 “4년제 대학을 다니다 공무원 시험 준비를 접고 영진전문대로 진로를 전환했다”며 “실무 중심의 교육이 해외 취업에 큰 도움이 됐다”고 소감을 전했다.
정밀기계공학과에서 전문기술석사 학위를 받은 박철호(45) 씨는 최근 창원폴리텍대학 교수로 임용됐다. 박 씨는 “야간과 주말을 쪼개며 공부하는 게 쉽지 않았지만, 현장 중심 교육과 밀도 있는 피드백이 큰 힘이 됐다”고 밝혔다.
만학도의 졸업 소식도 전해졌다. 파크골프경영과에서 전문학사를 받은 자매 박인숙(60)·박은숙(54) 씨는 대한파크골프협회 1급 지도자 자격을 함께 취득했다. 두 사람은 “지역사회에서 시니어와 장애인을 위한 파크골프 활동을 통해 건강한 여가 문화를 넓혀가고 싶다”고 포부를 밝혔다.
최재영 총장은 회고사를 통해 “영진이 가면 길이 된다는 말처럼, 대학에서의 경험을 바탕으로 어떤 도전에도 주저하지 말고 사회의 내일을 밝혀달라”고 졸업생들을 격려했다.

Yeungjin College held its 2025 commencement ceremony, sending a total of 2,675 graduates into society.
The 48th commencement ceremony, held on the morning of the 6th at the International Seminar Room on the Bokhyeon Campus in Buk-gu, Daegu, was attended by President Choi Jae-young, faculty, graduates' families, and other distinguished guests to congratulate the graduates on their future endeavors.
A total of 2,675 students received degrees at the ceremony, including 2,185 associate bachelor's degrees, 463 bachelor's degrees, and 27 master's degrees. Among the undergraduate students were 137 nursing graduates and 326 advanced major program graduates.
The event began with academic reports, followed by the presentation of degree certificates and awards, a presidential address, a graduating class address, and the singing of the school song. Representative graduating class addresses were delivered by Kwon Yong-man (Associate Bachelor's degree in Semiconductor Electronics) and Kim Chae-yeon (Master's degree in Precision Mechanical Engineering).
This year, academic achievements were also outstanding. Kim Tae-hyun (DIY Interior Design Department), who achieved perfect scores (4.5) in all subjects for four consecutive semesters, took first place overall. Mayuko Okaichi (Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Department) was named top student in the specialized major program. Both students received the Foundation Chairman's Award.
The diverse career paths of the graduates also drew attention. Nam Ga-hyun (26), a graduate of the Computer Information and Information Technology Department in Japan, was accepted by J-Com, a major Japanese cable TV company, and plans to join the university as a network engineer in April. Nam said, "I attended a four-year university, but I gave up preparing for the civil service exam and switched career paths to Yeungjin College. The practical training was a great help in finding employment overseas."
Park Cheol-ho (45), who received a Master's degree in Precision Mechanical Engineering, was recently appointed as a professor at Changwon Polytechnic University. Park said, "It wasn't easy to split my studies between nights and weekends, but the field-oriented training and intensive feedback were invaluable."
News of Manhakdo's graduation was also reported. Sisters Park In-sook (60) and Park Eun-sook (54), who received associate degrees in Park Golf Management, both earned Level 1 instructor certification from the Korea Park Golf Association. They expressed their aspirations, saying, "We hope to expand a healthy leisure culture through park golf activities for seniors and people with disabilities in our local community."
President Choi Jae-young encouraged the graduates in his retrospective, saying, "As the saying goes, 'Where Youngjin goes, the path opens.' So, based on your university experiences, don't hesitate to take on any challenge and brighten society's future."
