포천시는 지난 6일 관내 돼지 농가에서 두 번째 아프리카돼지열병(ASF) 확진 판정이 나옴에 따라, 중앙사고수습본부와 공조해 즉각적인 살처분과 역학조사에 착수했다고 밝혔다.
이번 확진 농가는 지난 1월 ASF가 발생했던 농장과 불과 약 800m 떨어진 거리에 위치해 있다. 해당 농장은 도축 출하를 앞두고 실시한 정밀검사 과정에서 양성 판정을 받은 것으로 확인됐다.

시는 확진 즉시 초동 방역팀을 투입해 농장 주변에 통제초소를 설치하고 외부인과 차량의 출입을 전면 통제했다. 이어 ASF 긴급행동지침(SOP)에 따라 해당 농장에서 사육 중인 돼지 8,520두에 대한 긴급 살처분을 진행하며 감염원 제거에 나섰다. 농림축산검역본부 중앙역학조사반 역시 현장에 투입되어 바이러스 유입 경로와 접촉자 등을 파악하기 위한 정밀 역학조사를 벌이고 있다.

방역 당국은 추가 확산을 막기 위해 발생 농장은 물론, 출하 도축장과 역학 관계에 있는 농장 및 차량에 대해 일시 이동 중지 명령을 내렸다. 또한, 발생 지역 인근 도로와 농장에 대한 집중 소독을 실시하고 관내 모든 양돈 농가에 방역 수칙 준수를 당부하는 등 최고 수준의 방역 태세를 유지하고 있다.
백영현 포천시장과 관계 공무원들은 7일 오전 발생 현장을 직접 찾아 방역 추진 상황을 점검했다. 백 시장은 현장에서 살처분 준비 태세와 미비점을 꼼꼼히 살피며, "추가 확산을 막기 위해 가능한 모든 행정력을 동원해 방역 조치를 신속하고 빈틈없이 이행하라"고 지시했다.
