이번 공모사업 선정으로 재단은 국비 지원을 받는 우수 공연 콘텐츠를 지역에 유치할 수 있는 기반을 마련했으며, 이를 통해 군민들이 다양한 장르의 공연예술을 향유할 수 있는 기회를 확대할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 특히 2026년에도 지역 간 문화 향유 격차 해소에 기여할 전망이다.
공연예술 지역유통 지원사업은 예술경영지원센터가 주관하는 사업으로, 우수 공연 작품의 지역 순회와 유통을 지원해 지역 공연장 활성화와 관객 저변 확대를 목표로 한다. 영덕문화관광재단은 이번 사업을 통해 국비 1억 4천만 원을 확보하고 완성도 높은 공연을 지역 무대에 선보일 계획이다.
해당 사업을 통해 영덕에서 선보일 공연은 총 4편으로 ▲발레 ‘더 발레리나’ ▲뮤지컬 ‘슈퍼토끼 슈퍼거북’ ▲연극 ‘분홍립스틱’ ▲음악 공연 ‘다크니스 투 라이트’ 등이다. 발레를 비롯해 아동·가족 공연, 창작 공연 등 다양한 장르로 구성해 전 세대를 아우르는 공연 관람 기회를 제공할 예정이다.
이와 함께 국립국악원이 주관하는 ‘국악을 국민 속으로’ 공모사업에도 선정돼, 국악 공연 접근성이 낮은 지역을 중심으로 수준 높은 전통예술 공연을 영덕에 유치하게 됐다. 이를 통해 군민들의 전통문화 향유 기회 역시 크게 확대될 것으로 보인다.
영덕문화관광재단 관계자는 “이번 두 건의 공모사업 선정은 국비 확보를 통해 지역 공연예술 환경을 한 단계 끌어올릴 수 있는 의미 있는 성과”라며 “앞으로도 다양한 공모사업을 적극 발굴해 군민들이 일상 속에서 자연스럽게 문화예술을 접할 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
