북부지방산림청은 연휴 기간 이용객 급증에 대비해 9일, 경기도 양평군 소재 ‘국립하늘숲추모원’과 ‘양평치유의숲’을 방문해 산불 예방 태세와 시설물 안전 관리 실태를 집중 점검했다고 밝혔다.
이번 특별 점검은 명절 기간 동안 추모객들이 안전하고 쾌적하게 시설을 이용할 수 있도록 위험 요소를 사전에 차단하는 데 중점을 뒀다.

합동 점검단은 현장을 찾아 ▲제례용 촛불·향 등 인화물질 관리 실태 ▲취사 및 화기 사용 금지 준수 여부 ▲초기 진화 장비 가동 상태 등 산불 방지 체계를 꼼꼼히 살폈다.
또한, 다중이용시설 내 안전사고를 막기 위해 보행로, 계단, 데크 등 주요 이동 동선의 안전성을 확인하고, 인파 밀집 시 혼잡 관리 방안과 응급환자 발생에 대비한 구급 체계까지 세밀하게 점검했다. 특히, 단순한 서류 점검에 그치지 않고 현장에서 발견된 위험 요소를 즉시 시정 조치하는 등 실질적인 '현장 중심' 활동을 펼쳤다.
