【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 진천군은 지역 청년들의 일상과 성장을 지원하기 위해 지난해 9월부터 청년센터를 운영하며 다양한 청년 프로그램과 지원사업을 선보이고 있다.
청년센터는 생거진천전통시장 주차장 부지 내 농업혁신성장센터(진천읍 원덕로 400) 4층에 위치하고 있으며, 청년들이 자유롭게 쉬고, 놀고, 배우며 교류할 수 있는 자유로운 공간으로 운영된다.
운영시간은 평일 9~21시, 토요일 9~18시까지로 직장인 청년도 편리하게 이용할 수 있다.
청년센터 내부에는 청년스테이션, 교육실, 상담실, 청년연구소 등이 마련돼 있으며 커피 머신, 공용 PC, 복합기 등도 무료로 제공하고 있다.
청년센터에서는 청년들의 니즈(Needs)를 충족하기 위해 다양한 프로그램을 제공한다.
자격증 취득을 준비하는 청년에게 응시료를 최대 10만 원까지 지원하고, 취업과 진로 고민, 마음건강 회복을 위한 상담 프로그램을 상시 제공해 청년들의 정서적 안정도 함께 돕고 있다.
아울러 청년 공동체와 동아리 활동 활성화를 위해 활동비를 지원하고, 청년이 직접 취재하고 홍보하는 서포터즈 기자단과 부담 없이 참여할 수 있는 다양한 주제의 원데이 클래스도 연중 운영 중이다.
이명호 군 인구정책과 주무관은 “청년센터가 청년들이 편하게 찾아와 쉬고, 배우며 새로운 도전에 나설 수 있는 공간이 되길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 청년의 삶에 실질적인 도움이 되는 프로그램을 지속적으로 운영하겠다”고 밝혔다.
