먼저 북면 여성의용소방대는 최근 북면 행정복지센터를 방문해 관내 취약계층을 위한 성금 100만 원을 기탁했다.
북면 여성의용소방대는 평소 화재 예방 활동뿐만 아니라 복지 사각지대 발굴과 취약계층 지원 등 다양한 봉사를 실천해오고 있다. 김득남 대장은 “우리 주변에는 아직도 도움의 손길을 기다리는 이웃들이 많다”며 “올해도 대원들과 함께 더 열심히 뛰어 소외된 이웃들에게 실질적인 도움이 되고 싶다”고 전했다. 이에 장동복 북면장도 “항상 지역을 위해 애써주시는 대원들의 마음에 깊이 감사드린다”고 화답했다.
같은 시기, 상면 덕현리 부녀회는 정성 가득한 ‘떡만둣국 나눔 봉사’로 사랑을 실천했다.

올해로 4년째를 맞이한 이번 봉사에는 부녀회원 20여 명과 마을 주민들이 참여해 구슬땀을 흘렸다. 회원들은 봉사 전날부터 재료를 준비하고 당일 새벽부터 직접 1,000개가 넘는 만두를 빚어, 떡국떡·곰탕과 함께 포장해 독거 어르신 등 70가구에 전달했다.
김나경 부녀회장은 “어르신들이 따뜻한 한 끼를 드시고 건강하게 지내시길 바라는 마음으로 회원들이 한마음이 되어 준비했다”며 “앞으로도 이웃에게 힘과 위로가 되는 봉사활동을 꾸준히 이어가겠다”고 밝혔다.
