10일 원주시에 따르면 향토 기업인 삼양식품과 무실동 자생단체들이 잇따라 나눔 활동을 펼치며 지역사회에 온기를 불어넣었다.
먼저 삼양식품 원주공장은 지난 9일 우산동 내 어르신들을 위해 자사 제품인 라면과 스낵류 105박스(340만 원 상당)를 기탁했다. 우산동에 둥지를 튼 삼양식품은 매년 명절마다 잊지 않고 지역 사회공헌을 실천해 오고 있다. 회사 관계자는 "어르신들의 밥상에 따뜻한 라면 한 그릇이 위로가 되길 바란다"고 전했다.

무실동에서는 주민 단체들의 활약이 빛났다. 무실동새마을부녀회는 지난 9일 행정복지센터에서 ‘설맞이 떡 판매 행사’를 열었다. 주민들의 호응 속에 마련된 수익금 전액은 관내 취약계층을 위해 쓰일 예정이다. 최연숙 회장은 "떡국 떡에 담긴 정이 이웃들에게 잘 전달되길 바란다"고 말했다.
