【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=음성군은 지난 9일 금왕읍 무극시장 앞 응천 제방 일원에서 금왕읍 농촌중심지 활성화사업의 일환으로 조성된 ‘금빛인도교’ 개통식을 개최하고 본격 운영에 들어갔다고 밝혔다.
이날 행사에는 주민과 기관·사회단체 관계자 등 약 300명이 참석해 개통을 함께 축하했다.
금빛인도교는 금왕읍 농촌중심지 활성화사업의 핵심 사업 중 하나로, 그동안 주민들이 응천 하상도로 이용 과정에서 겪어오던 보행 불편과 안전 문제를 근본적으로 해결하기 위해 추진된 보행교다.
군은 이번 인도교 개통을 통해 보행 동선이 정비되면서 이동의 효율성과 안전성이 향상되고, 무극시장과 주변 생활권 간 연결성 강화로 지역 상권 접근성이 개선될 것으로 기대하고 있다.
금빛인도교 조성사업은 2020년 6월 농림축산식품부 공모사업에 선정된 이후 2022년 8월 기본계획 승인, 2024년 6월 시행계획 승인 등 절차를 거쳐 추진됐다.
또한 2024년 9월 인도교 설치 신기술 심의를 마쳤고, 2025년 5월 토목과 경관(전기)공사 실시설계를 완료했다. 이후 2025년 7월 인허가 협의와 지장물 철거를 마친 뒤 그해 8월 착공해 2026년 2월 준공에 이르렀다.
금빛인도교는 총사업비 32억1800여만원을 들여, 총 연장 80m, 폭 3.0m 규모로 조성됐으며, 단순한 이동 통로의 기능을 넘어 지역의 새로운 랜드마크의 면모를 갖췄다.
