파주시 월롱도서관, 주민자치 역량 강화 ‘마을리더학교’ 운영

파주시 월롱도서관이 오는 2월 12일과 13일 양일간 주민자치 역량 강화를 위한 ‘마을리더학교’를 운영한다.

이번 프로그램은 월롱면 주민자치회와 협력해 마련됐으며, 지역 주민이 스스로 지역 의제를 설정하고 해결 방안을 모색하는 ‘능동적 자치활동’의 기반을 다지는 것을 목표로 한다.

월롱도서관은 첫 번째 주제를 ‘생태환경’으로 정하고, DMZ생물다양성연구소 정명희 대표를 초청해 파주 생태계와 월롱면의 생태 가치에 대한 강연을 진행하며 강연에서는 생물다양성의 개념, 지역 생태의 자산 가치 등을 중심으로 환경의 중요성을 공유하고 주민의 주체적 참여를 이끌어낼 예정이다.

한편, 월롱도서관은 ‘마을리더학교’에 앞서 지난해 11월 15일부터 ‘공존을 위한 생태계 모니터링–우리, 함께’를 주제로 한 상설전시를 이어오고 있다. 

전시에서는 파주 민간인통제구역(민통선) 일대의 생태자료를 표본과 사진으로 선보이고 있으며, 현재는 겨울철 민통선 지역에 서식하는 조류 생태를 조명한 작품을 전시 중이다. 이번 전시는 오는 2월 28일까지 운영된다.

이인숙 문산도서관장은 “공공도서관이 지역의 학습 플랫폼이자 마을 의제를 논의하는 공론장으로서 자리 잡기 위해서는 지역 협력이 필수적”이라며, “전문성과 신뢰를 기반으로 지역 공동체의 성장을 돕는 핵심 거점 도서관이 되도록 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Paju City's Wollong Library will host a "Village Leader School" on February 12th and 13th to strengthen local autonomy capacity.

This program, developed in collaboration with the Wollong-myeon Residents' Autonomy Association, aims to lay the foundation for "active self-governance" where local residents independently set local agendas and seek solutions.

Wollong Library has chosen "Ecological Environment" as its first theme and invited Jeong Myeong-hee, Director of the DMZ Biodiversity Research Institute, to deliver a lecture on the Paju ecosystem and the ecological value of Wollong-myeon. The lecture will focus on the concept of biodiversity and the asset value of local ecosystems, sharing the importance of the environment and encouraging active participation from residents.

Meanwhile, prior to the launch of the "Village Leader School," the Wolong Library has been hosting a permanent exhibition titled "Ecosystem Monitoring for Coexistence – Together, Us" since November 15th of last year.
