대전YWCA가 세대 교체와 함께 새로운 도약의 출발을 알렸다.
대전YWCA는 11일 오전 11시 30분, 대전YWCA 4층 대강당에서 제37·38대 회장 이·취임식을 열고, 제38대 김영아 신임 회장이 공식 취임했다고 밝혔다.
이 자리에는 이사와 기관 관계자, 회원 등이 참석해 지난 임기를 마친 홍유미 제37대 회장의 헌신에 감사의 뜻을 전하고, 새로 취임한 김영아 회장의 앞날을 축하했다.
충남대학교 대학원 지식재산융합학과 교수로 재직 중인 김영아 회장은 차세대융합기술연구원 이사, 대통령직속 민주평화통일자문회의 상임위원, 고용노동부 심의위원 등 공공·학계 전반에서 폭넓게 활동해 온 인물이다.
특히 유성구 온천문화축제위원회, 지방재정계획심의위원회 등 지역 정책 자문에도 지속적으로 참여하며 지역사회 발전에 기여해왔다.
김 회장은 YWCA 내부에서도 대학청년위원회, 부회장, 회계이사 등 다양한 직책을 맡아 오랜 기간 헌신해왔으며, 장학위원회와 인사지도력위원회 활동을 통해 조직의 성장과 투명성 강화에도 기여했다.
취임사에서 김 회장은 “올해는 대전YWCA 창립 80주년이 되는 뜻깊은 해로, 역사와 전통의 무게를 한층 깊게 느낀다”며 “여성과 청소년, 시민 모두가 함께 성장하는 지역사회를 만드는 데 앞장서겠다”고 포부를 밝혔다.
1946년 창립된 대전YWCA는 여성사회 참여 확대, 청소년 지도, 시민운동 등 다양한 활동을 펼쳐 온 지역의 대표적인 시민단체로, 이번 회장 이취임을 계기로 80년의 역사를 잇는 새로운 비전 수립에 나설 예정이다.
