가평읍행정복지센터는 지난 11일, 지역 내 주요 기관 및 단체 회원 100여 명과 함께 ‘설맞이 국토대청소’를 실시했다고 밝혔다.

이날 활동에는 가평읍 이장협의회를 비롯해 새마을지도자·부녀회, 주민자치회, 체육회, 지역사회보장협의체 등 가평읍을 이끌어가는 핵심 단체들이 대거 참여해 힘을 보탰다.
참가자들은 이른 아침부터 가평읍 행정복지센터에 집결해 구역별로 나누어 환경 정비에 나섰다. 특히 설을 맞아 고향을 찾는 귀성객들에게 깨끗한 이미지를 심어주기 위해 읍내 주요 대로변은 물론, 가평 1939역 주변, 레일바이크 일대, 마을 시가지 등 유동 인구가 많은 곳을 중심으로 집중적인 정화 활동을 펼쳤다.
장석조 가평읍장은 “추운 날씨에도 불구하고 아침 일찍부터 대청소에 자발적으로 참여해 주신 단체 회원들께 진심으로 감사드린다”며 “앞으로도 민관이 화합해 더욱 살기 좋은 가평읍을 만들어 나가는 데 최선을 다하겠다”고 전했다.
