군은 ‘미래세대와 함께 누리는 환경도시 조성’을 비전으로 △저탄소 생활 실천 확대 △환경오염 예방 강화 △수생태계 체계적 관리 등 군민이 체감할 수 있는 환경정책을 단계적으로 추진할 계획이다.
특히 2023년 전국 지방정부 최초로 도입한 ‘진천형 ESG 더블업’ 정책을 2026년 ‘3.0 단계’로 고도화해 행정 전반은 물론 민간 영역까지 확산한다.
주요 업무계획과 연계한 ESG 과제를 지속 발굴하고, 중소기업을 대상으로 ESG 경영 컨설팅과 인증 지원을 병행해 지역경제와 환경이 상생하는 기반을 구축할 방침이다.
또한 관내 기업이 참여하는 ‘1사 1하천 가꾸기’ ESG 녹색실천 캠페인을 신규 운영해 하천 정화 활동을 정례화하고, 기업의 사회적 책임 이행을 확대할 계획이다.
군민의 저탄소 생활 실천 확산을 위한 정책도 지속 추진된다.
‘생거진천 에코머니’와 탄소중립 포인트제(에너지·자동차 분야)를 운영하고, 군민과 공직자를 대상으로 탄소중립 자가학습 콘텐츠를 새롭게 도입한다.
