국민의힘 안경자 대전시의원(비례)이 대전·충남 행정통합 논의를 중단하고 사회적 숙의를 촉구하며 삭발 항의를 벌였다.
안 의원은 12일 대전시의회 기자실 기자회견에서 “행정통합은 단순 행정구역 조정이 아닌 헌정·사회적 문제”라며 현재 논의가 “지나치게 빠르고 단선적”이라고 비판했다.
국가균형발전 효과 검증, 재정 부담 분석, 지방분권 실현 가능성, 지역 갈등 등 핵심 쟁점이 충분히 논의되지 않았고, 시민 의견 수렴 과정도 부족하다고 지적했다.
안 의원은 “찬반 가르는 정치 선택이 아닌 사회적 숙의가 필요하다”며 “이제 대통령이 나서 행정통합 논의를 중단하고 검증·숙의를 진행해야 한다”고 요구했다.
“시민이 이해·판단·동의할 조건이 마련될 때까지 중단하라”며 “검증 없는 통합은 미래 부담을 넘기는 선택”이라고 경고했다.
지방선거를 앞둔 과열 논의가 합리적 대안 모색 기회를 막고 있다며, 행정통합이 지역 분열을 부르고 있다고 우려했다.
안 의원은 삭발하며 “민주주의와 지방자치 가치를 지키기 위한 간곡한 요구”라고 밝혔다.
