대전 유성구가 설 명절을 맞아 취약계층 지원과 나눔 활동으로 따뜻한 명절 분위기를 조성하고 있다.
유성구는 13일까지 기초생활수급자 6,118가구와 사회복지시설 10곳(512명)을 대상으로 위문 활동을 펼친다.
구청 직원들이 직접 방문해 안부를 묻고 위문품을 전달하며, 수혜자 편의를 고려해 기초생활수급자에는 온누리상품권 1만 원권, 시설에는 한우 양지·불고기 등 소고기 380kg을 지원한다.
12일에는 유성구지역협력센터에서 ‘설맞이 사랑의 떡국떡 나눔 행사’가 열렸다.
(사)유성구자원봉사센터 주관으로 유성구자원봉사협의회, 새마을회, 대한적십자사 유성지구협의회 등 60여 명이 참여해 직접 썬 떡국떡을 저소득 가정 440가구에 나눠줬다.
지난 6일에는 대전사회복지공동모금회가 1,760만 원을 후원해 중위소득 120% 이하 저소득 가정 352세대에 명절 지원금을 전달했다.
이처럼 잇따른 나눔 활동은 지역 내 취약계층의 명절 부담을 덜고, 전통시장 이용 촉진으로 지역경제 활성화까지 도모하는 효과를 기대하게 한다.
유성구 관계자는 “설을 맞아 이웃 간 온정을 나누며 따뜻한 명절을 보내길 바란다”며 “취약계층 지원과 지역경제 활성화를 지속적으로 추진하겠다”고 밝혔다.
