고속도로를 달리던 화물차에서 발생한 불이 인근 산으로 옮겨붙어 소방당국이 긴급 진화에 나섰다.
13일 오전 10시 42분께 충남 공주시 월미동 대전당진고속도로 당진 방향 67.2km 지점을 주행하던 1톤 화물차에서 화재가 발생했다.
신고를 받고 출동한 소방대원들이 현장에 도착했을 당시 차량은 이미 거센 불길에 휩싸여 전소 중이었다. 특히 차량에서 시작된 불이 도로 옆 야산으로 번지면서 자칫 대형 산불로 이어질 뻔한 위험한 상황이 연출되기도 했다.

소방당국은 화재 발생 약 25분 만인 오전 11시 7분께 차량과 임야의 불길을 모두 잡았다. 다행히 운전자가 신속히 대피해 인명피해는 발생하지 않았으나, 화물차가 완전히 타버리고 인근 산림 일부가 소실되는 피해를 입었다.
경찰과 소방당국은 운전자의 진술을 토대로 정확한 화재 원인과 구체적인 재산 피해 규모를 조사하고 있다.
