이재명 대통령이 17일 "대통령이 되려고 된 게 아니며 대통령 권한으로 하고 싶은 일이 있었기 때문"이라고 전했다. 자신의 지난 성남시장 출마 당시 '권력 아닌 일 할 수 있는 권한이 필요하다'는 호소를 재소환한 것이다.

또 "이제 대한민국을 바꿀 기회가 왔다"며 "오직 하나의 소원을 안고 무수한 죽음 고개를 넘으며 여기까지 왔고 기회가 생겼는데 그 절실한 일을 왜 하지 않겠나"라고 했다.
이어 "부동산공화국 극복이든 안전하고 평화로운 나라를 만드는 거든 공정하고 합리적 세상을 만드는 거든 성장·발전하는 나라를 만드는 거든, 두려움을 모두 떨쳐내고 촌음까지 아껴 사력을 다하겠다"며 "국민 여러분 은혜로 소원을 이뤘고 이제 전력질주만 남았다"고 덧붙였다.
