브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 금융감독원이 가상자산 거래소 빗썸에서 발생한 대규모 비트코인 오지급 사태에 대한 현장 검사 기간을 이달 말까지 연장하기로 했다.
조사 과정에서 기존에 알려진 것 외에 추가적인 시스템 오류 정황이 포착되면서, 빗썸의 내부통제 시스템 전반을 검증하겠다는 의지로 풀이된다.
19일 금융당국에 따르면 금감원은 지난 13일 마감할 예정이었던 빗썸 현장 검사 기한을 이달 28일까지로 연장했다. 사안의 중대성을 고려해 검사 인력도 기존보다 늘어난 8명으로 확대 편성됐다.
이찬진 금감원장이 지난주 국회 현안 질의에서 조속한 결과 보고를 약속했음에도 불구하고, 기간을 연장한 이유는 단순히 일회성 사고가 아닌 시스템적 결함을 확인했기 때문이라는 분석이 지배적이다.
