더불어민주당 김안태 대덕과더불어포럼 대표가 19일 오전 대전시의회에서 기자회견을 열고, 오 6월 실시하는 제9회 전국동시지방선거 대덕구청장 출마를 공식화했다.
김 대표는 ‘통합의 시대, 충청권 핵심 성장 거점’을 슬로건으로 내걸고, 행정통합이라는 거대한 전환기 속에서 대덕구의 변화를 끝까지 책임지겠다는 강한 의지를 피력했다.
김 대표는 출마 선언의 일성으로 대전·충남 행정통합을 언급하며, 이를 대덕구가 재도약할 수 있는 ‘절호의 기회’로 규정했다.
그는 “통합이 현실화되면 재정과 특례, 규제 등 모든 것이 바뀌게 된다”며 “이러한 기회를 대덕의 이익으로 바꿔내기 위해서는 설계 단계부터 실행까지 앞서 나가는 준비된 리더십이 필요하다”고 역설했다.
특히 김 대표는 자신의 강점으로 20여 년간 쌓아온 ‘행정 및 정치 실무 능력’을 내세웠다. 국회 보좌관과 지방자치단체 비서실장, 그리고 박정현 국회의원의 선임비서관 등을 역임하며 정책의 결정 과정과 예산의 흐름을 몸소 체득했음을 강조했다.

교통 분야에서는 수요응답형 버스와 순환형 마을버스 도입을 통해 대덕구만의 독자적인 교통체계 구축을 공약했으며, 돌봄과 복지를 지역 일자리로 연결하는 ‘통합돌봄 선도도시’ 모델과 문화·역사 중심의 교육복지 모델 등도 함께 제시했다.
아울러 통합 이후 즉시 실행할 ‘통합특례 패키지’와 이를 추진할 민관 합동 프로젝트 팀 구성을 ‘플러스 원(+1)’ 전략으로 덧붙였다.
이와 함께 김 대표는 동구·중구·대덕구를 하나의 생활권으로 묶는 ‘원도심 연합도시’ 구상을 제안해 주목을 받았다.
