【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 진천군은 20일을 시작으로 농촌인력난 해소를 위한 2026년 외국인 계절근로자 제도를 본격 추진한다고 밝혔다.
이번 입국은 2026년 외국인 계절근로자 도입의 첫 일정으로, 총 62명(남자 36명, 여자 26명)의 캄보디아 국적 외국인 계절근로자가 지역 29개 농가에 배치될 예정이다.
입국한 근로자들은 감염병 예방 수칙, 근로계약 주요 사항, 임금 지급 기준, 숙식비 공제 내용, 산업안전, 생활안전 교육, 고충 처리 절차, 위급상황 대응 요령 등에 대한 사전 교육을 받은 후 고용주와 첫 만남을 갖고 각 농가로 배치된다.
군은 외국인 계절근로자가 안정적으로 근무할 수 있도록 배정 농가를 대상으로 관련 법령, 인권 보호, 근로조건 준수사항, 문화적 이해 교육 등을 실시하고 입국자 인솔, 현장 행정 지원을 통해 초기 정착을 적극 지원할 방침이다.
한편 군은 이번 입국을 시작으로 외국인 계절근로자 도입을 단계적으로 확대할 계획이다.
오는 3월에는 캄보디아 131명, 라오스 34명 등 총 165명이, 4월에는 캄보디아 36명, 라오스 6명 등 총 42명이 추가로 입국한다.
정지한 군 농업정책과 주무관은 “외국인 계절근로자 제도는 농촌 고령화와 인력 부족 문제를 해결하기 위한 핵심 대안”이라며 “2026년을 기점으로 안정적인 인력 수급 체계를 구축해 농가 경영 안정과 지역 농업 경쟁력 강화에 기여하겠다”고 말했다.
