대한적십자사 경상북도지사(회장 김재왕)는 1월 초부터 도내 22개 시·군 전역에서 추진한 ‘2025 혹한기 재난취약계층 물품 지원 사업’을 통해 난방텐트 1,200동의 전달과 설치를 모두 완료했다고 밝혔다.
이번 사업은 급격한 기온 하강에 따른 인명 피해를 예방하고, 난방비 부담으로 어려움을 겪는 취약계층에 적시·적소의 난방 물품을 지원함으로써 지역사회 안전망을 강화하기 위해 마련됐다.
특히 이번 지원은 기존의 ‘도어 투 도어(Door-to-Door)’ 방식을 넘어 주거 공간 내부까지 직접 들어가 설치를 지원하는 ‘인사이드 홈(Inside-Home)’ 방식으로 진행됐다. 지역 단위 봉사회와 연계해 현장 밀착형 구호 활동을 강화함으로써 방한 사각지대를 최소화하는 데 주력했다.
적십자 봉사원들은 빙판길을 오가며 어르신 가정을 직접 방문해 난방텐트를 설치하고, 건강 상태를 확인하는 한편 말벗이 되는 등 정서적 지원도 병행했다. 이를 통해 단순 물품 전달을 넘어 지역 봉사 네트워크를 기반으로 한 촘촘한 복지 안전망 구축에 힘을 보탰다.

Meanwhile, the Gyeongsangbuk-do Branch of the Korean Red Cross annually provides customized relief supplies to vulnerable populations during extreme cold and heat waves. It is also working to strengthen the local community safety net through a volunteer network of 22 cities and counties in the province.
