안 예비후보는 “공직 정년을 5년 남기고 고향 포항을 울산만큼 발전시켜 보고자 출마를 결심했다”며 “그동안 쌓은 행정 경험과 중앙부처 인맥을 최대한 활용해 고향 발전을 이루겠다”고 밝혔다.
그는 철강산업의 재도약과 함께 인공지능(AI)·로봇·방위산업 등 신산업 육성, 글로벌 기업 투자 유치를 통해 포항 산업을 한 단계 끌어올리겠다고 강조했다.
포항 송도 출신인 안 예비후보는 송도초와 대동중·고를 졸업한 뒤 서울대를 나왔으며, 해병대 복무를 마쳤다. 이후 행정안전부와 세종특별자치시, 서울특별시 등에서 요직을 두루 거친 행정 전문가로 평가받고 있다.
안 예비후보는 21일 대경일보 6층에서 선거사무소 개소식을 열고 본격적인 지방선거 행보에 나설 예정이다.
