충남 당진시 석문방조제 인근에서 LNG 폭발 사고가 발생해 관계 당국이 긴급 수습에 나섰다.
당진시에 따르면, 20일 낮 12시 51분경 당진시 송산면 가곡리 564번지 석문방조제 인근 공사 현장에서 폭발 사고가 발생했다. 당진시는 사고 직후 재난 문자를 발송해 해당 구간의 도로 통제 상황을 알리고 인근 시민들에게 주의를 당부했다.
이번 사고는 공사장 내에서 가압 실험을 진행하던 중 발생한 것으로 파악됐다.
폭발의 충격으로 인해 현장 잔해물이 인근 도로까지 유출되었으며, 현재 당국은 추가 사고 방지와 현장 정리를 위해 사고 지점 주변 도로를 전면 통제하고 잔해물 제거 작업을 벌이고 있다.

경찰과 소방 당국은 현장 정리가 완료되는 대로 정확한 인명 피해 여부와 구체적인 사고 원인을 조사할 예정이다.
