더불어민주당 대전 동구 제1선거구 시의원 예비후보자 정근모가 2월 20일 예비후보자 등록을 마치고 본격적인 지방선거 선거운동을 시작했다.
정 예비후보는 과거 2022년 6월 지방선거에서 아쉽게 낙선했으나, 지난 4년간 깊은 성찰과 준비의 시간을 보내며 재도전에 나섰다.
19일 오전 예비후보 등록 후 대전시의회 기자실에서 출마선언을 한 정근모 예비후보는 출마 선언문을 통해 “지방소멸 위기 극복과 충청권 미래를 위한 대전·충남 행정통합이 반드시 성공해야 한다”고 강조하며, 6.3 지방선거에서 민주당의 승리와 함께 대전·충남 지방정부의 정권교체가 이뤄져야 하는 시점임을 강조했다.
