<브레이크뉴스 강원 = 이향석 기자> 18년의 굵직한 역사를 자랑하는 춘천시의 레저사업이 올해 시민 참여를 대폭 늘리고 '호수 레저문화'를 완벽히 정착시키기 위해 한 단계 더 도약한다.
춘천레저·태권도조직위원회는 올해 전체 참가자 1만 7,000여 명 유치를 목표로 시민레저아카데미, 춘천레저대회, 시민레저이벤트, 레저관광(에코시리즈) 등 4대 핵심 레저사업을 사계절 내내 가동한다고 밝혔다. 단순히 보는 것을 넘어 시민과 관광객이 직접 체험하고 즐기는 '생활형 레저도시'를 완성하겠다는 구상이다.

가장 눈에 띄는 '시민레저아카데미'는 육상, 수상, 설상을 총망라한다. BMX 레이싱, 우든카누, 수상스키 등 체험형 프로그램과 스케이트보드, 윈드서핑 등 강습형 프로그램을 체계적으로 병행한다. 입문부터 리그 참여까지 자연스럽게 이어지도록 구조를 짰으며, 특히 인기 종목인 우든카누는 2,000명 규모로 확대 운영하고 겨울철에는 초·중등 스노우보드 캠프도 진행할 예정이다.

그동안 '경기 중심'이었던 춘천레저대회도 시민과 관광객이 함께 어우러지는 '생활형 축제'로 탈바꿈한다. 레저경기 5종과 트레일러닝, 노을마라톤, 딥워터 페스티벌, 패들보드 페스타 등 시민 참여형 이벤트 6종을 계절별로 분산 개최해 즐길 거리를 더했다. 특히 내수면 최초로 열리는 패들보드 페스타와 계절 맞춤형 노을마라톤이 신선한 재미를 선사할 것으로 기대된다.

관광 분야는 '에코시리즈'로 통합해 시너지를 낸다. 자전거와 카누, 둘레길 트레킹을 묶은 '에코투어'에 더해, 의암호 순환 '에코라이드', 자전거 캠핑 '에코팩킹'을 새롭게 도입해 체류형 관광객의 발길을 사로잡을 계획이다.
또한, 레저와 교육을 잇는 협력망도 촘촘해진다. 한국폴리텍대학 춘천캠퍼스, 한림대 RISE 사업단과 연계해 가이드 양성 및 대학 수업 접목을 시도하고, 관내 초·중·고 대상 '1교 1레저 프로그램'과 강원대 외국인 유학생 참여 프로그램도 꾸준히 이어간다.
레저관광은 당장 3월부터 첫선을 보이며, 시민레저아카데미(4월~내년 2월)와 춘천레저대회(5월~11월)가 연중 쉼 없이 돌아갈 예정이다.
