대전시가 유성구 와룡로 149에 새롭게 문을 연 구즉문화센터가 지역 주민들의 건강·여가·문화 생활을 아우르는 복합 공간으로 본격 운영에 들어갔다.
2월 20일 열린 개소식에는 이장우 대전시장, 조원휘 시의회의장, 이금선 시의원, 정용래 유성구청장과 주민 약 100명이 참석해 지역 사회의 새로운 활력소가 될 시설 개장을 함께 축하했다.
구즉문화센터는 광역폐기물처리시설이 밀집한 환경 여건으로 불편을 겪은 주민들의 삶의 질 향상에 주안점을 둔 주민 공동이용시설이다. 243억 원의 예산을 들여 2023년 12월에 착공해 2025년 10월에 완공했으며, 지하 1층부터 지상 3층, 연면적 5,113㎡ 규모로 조성됐다.
층별로 구색이 다채로운 편의시설이 갖춰져 눈길을 끈다. 지하 1층에는 지역 로컬푸드 매장과 북카페, 건강생활지원센터가 들어섰고, 1층은 관리사무실과 취미·교양실, 열린도서관, 공동육아방과 창작공방이 자리해 주민들의 다양한 욕구를 충족한다.
