김경훈 전 대전광역시의회 의장이 제9회 전국동시지방선거 대전 중구청장 선거 출마를 공식화하며 본격적인 민심 잡기에 나섰다.
국민의힘 소속인 김 전 의장은 예비후보 등록 첫날인 20일 오전, 대전 중구선거관리위원회를 방문해 후보 등록 서류를 접수했다.
그는 출마의 일성으로 “강한 중구, 확실한 변화”를 내걸고, 오랜 침체에 빠진 중구의 위상을 다시 세우겠다는 강력한 의지를 피력했다.
후보 등록을 마친 김 예비후보는 현재 중구가 처한 위기 상황을 냉철하게 진단했다.
그는 “중구는 지난 100년간 대전의 실질적인 중심이자 경제·문화의 거점이었으나, 2000년대 이후 도시 기능이 서구와 유성구로 쏠리면서 20년 넘게 침체의 늪을 벗어나지 못하고 있다”고 꼬집었다.
