【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=대구광역시선거관리위원회는 오는 6월 3일 실시되는 제9회 전국동시지방선거와 관련해 출판기념회에서 업적을 홍보하고 무상 공연을 제공한 혐의로 입후보예정자 A씨와 가족 B씨, 출판사 관계자 C씨를 2월 19일 대구지방검찰청에 고발했다고 밝혔다.

대구시선관위에 따르면 이들은 A씨의 출판기념회를 열어 참석자 400여 명을 대상으로 A씨의 업적을 홍보하는 영상을 상영하고, 전문 성악가 2명의 공연을 무상으로 제공한 혐의를 받고 있다.
또한 A씨는 지난해 11월경부터 자신의 업적이 게재된 신문기사 이미지 등을 선거구민 등 약 900명에게 문자메시지로 발송한 혐의도 받고 있다.
'공직선거법' 제86조 제1항 제1호는 공무원이 소속 직원이나 선거구민에게 후보자가 되고자 하는 자의 업적을 홍보하는 행위를 금지하고 있다.
아울러 같은 법 제113조, 제114조, 제115조는 후보자가 되고자 하는 자와 그 가족, 제3자가 선거와 관련해 선거구 내 인사 또는 선거구민과 연고가 있는 자에게 기부행위를 하는 것을 제한하고 있다.
대구시선관위 관계자는 “제9회 전국동시지방선거를 앞두고 공무원의 선거 관여, 기부 및 매수 행위 등 선거의 공정을 해치고 후보자 간 공정한 경쟁을 방해하는 중대 선거범죄에 대해 단속 역량을 집중해 엄중히 조치할 방침”이라고 밝혔다.

An official from the Daegu City Election Commission stated, "Ahead of the 9th nationwide simultaneous local elections, we plan to focus our crackdown on serious election crimes, such as public officials' interference in elections, donations, and bribery, that undermine the fairness of the election and impede fair competition among candidates."
