빈집

비스듬히
햇살이 기웃대는 대문으로
주저앉은 잡초들
깨진 장독대에
반쯤 고인 참나리꽃
제 얼굴 잠시 비추어 보는 사이
잠자리 몇 마리
마당을 맴돌다 사라지고
문패 없는 섬돌 가
꽃들은 피어나는데
돌담이 돌무덤으로 가라앉은
빈집에 들어와서
문득 나를 만난다
내 안에 버려진 시간과
더러 피어 있는 꽃
잊혀진 것들의 고요를 마주하며
오래된 나를 쓰다듬는다.

Through the front gate, where sunlight peeps in
Weeds slumped over
On a broken jar
Half-dead Japanese lilies
As I briefly glimpsed my face
A few dragonflies
Circling the yard and then disappearing
By the unmarked stepping stone
Flowers bloom,
The stone wall has sunk into a cairn
Entering the empty house
Suddenly, I encounter myself
The time abandoned within me
And the flowers blooming in disarray
Encountering the silence of forgotten things
I caress my old self.

Poet Kang Min-sook was born in Buan, North Jeolla Province. She holds a master's degree in creative writing from Dongguk University and a doctorate in creative writing from Myongji University. He is the author of the poetry collections "Burying You in the Sunset," "You Float to an Island in the Sea," "Flowers Don't Blame the Wind," "There Is No Nest," "Reading Chaeseokgang," and "The Song of the Boy Worker Jaemyeong," as well as over ten other books. He is the CEO of "Big Thought Tree," a publishing company. He is also the Vice-Chairman of the Buan County Donghak Peasant Revolution Steering Committee. He is a former director of the Korean Writers Association. He is a former spokesperson for the Korean National Arts Federation. He is also the director of the ICLAA Creative Writing Center.
