논산열린도서관 내 조성, 최첨단 500mm 반사망원경 도입

논산의 어린이들이 밤하늘을 수놓은 별들을 직접 관측하며 우주를 향한 원대한 꿈을 키울 수 있는 전용 공간이 마련된다.
충남 논산시는 오는 3월 3일부터 논산열린도서관 4층에 조성된 ‘논산 별빛누리 천문대’의 시범 운영에 본격 돌입한다고 밝혔다. 이번 천문대 개관은 아이들이 교과서에서만 접하던 우주의 신비를 생생한 현장 체험을 통해 직접 경험할 수 있도록 기획됐다.
별빛누리 천문대는 지름 6m 규모의 돔형 관측실을 갖추고 있으며, 500mm 반사망원경을 주력 장비로 배치했다. 여기에 태양망원경과 보조망원경 등 논산의 관측 환경에 최적화된 최첨단 장비들을 도입해 관측의 정밀도를 높였다.
