[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 시민들에게 맑고 쾌적한 대기환경을 제공하기 위해 2026년 운행차 배출가스 저감사업을 본격 추진한다고 23일 밝혔다.
시는 올해 총 31억1900만원을 투입해 노후 차량 조기 폐차와 매연 저감장치 부착, 건설기계 엔진 교체 등을 지원한다.
배출가스 4·5등급 경유차와 노후 건설기계 등 총 1085대를 대상으로 조기 폐차 지원에 20억7700만원을 편성했다.
시는 총중량 3.5톤 미만 4등급 차량은 기본 지원율을 70%로 상향하고, 전기·수소·하이브리드차 구매 시 추가 지원한다.
또 시는 매연 저감장치 부착과 건설기계 엔진 교체 등 저공해 조치 사업에는 11억원을 투입해 총 69대를 지원할 계획이다.
특히 시는 어린이 통학차량 LPG 전환은 2대를 대상으로 대당 300만원을 지원하며, 경유차 폐차 조건으로 신청할 수 있다고 전했다.
진주시 관계자는 “5등급 노후 차량과 건설기계 지원이 올해 종료되는 만큼 기한 내 신청해 달라”고 당부했다.
