추 의원은 지난 20일 동대구신협과 동구 청운신협, 21일 수성신협, 23일 중구 대봉천신협 정기총회에 참석해 조합원들과 직접 만나 최근 경기 침체로 어려움을 겪고 있는 소상공인들의 금융 여건과 현장 애로사항을 청취했다.
정기총회는 한 해의 사업 성과를 공유하고 새해 운영 방향을 논의하는 자리다. 추 의원은 이 자리에서 지역 기반 금융협동조합으로서 신협과 조합원들이 수행해 온 역할에 감사를 표하며, 지역 경제에서 신협이 차지하는 중요성을 강조했다.
그는 “신협은 지역 주민과 소상공인의 가장 가까운 금융 파트너이자 골목경제를 지탱하는 생활 금융의 중심”이라며 “경제가 어려울수록 지역 금융의 안정성과 신뢰가 무엇보다 중요하다”고 말했다. 이어 “현장에서 체감하는 자금 부담과 제도적 고충 등 지역 금융의 목소리를 지속적으로 경청하고 소통을 이어가겠다”고 밝혔다.
추 의원은 앞으로도 대구 전역에서 열리는 신협 정기총회와 경제 현장을 방문해 시민들과의 현장 소통을 확대해 나갈 계획이다.
