대전광역시교육청이 학교 예술교육의 질적 도약과 교육활동 기반 강화를 위해 ‘2026년 학교예술교육 환경 선진화 사업’을 본격적으로 추진하며 미래형 예술 학습 환경 조성에 박차를 가한다.
이번 사업은 학생들의 예술적 감수성을 키울 수 있는 전용 공간을 체계적으로 구축하는 것을 골자로 한다.
특히 복합 문화예술 공간인 ‘예드림(藝-Dream)홀’ 조성과 노후화된 음악·미술실의 환경 개선을 핵심 과제로 설정해 학교 현장을 실질적으로 지원할 방침이다.
지난 2017년부터 시작된 이 사업은 2025년까지 총 185개 학교를 지원하며 대전 교육의 예술적 토대를 다져왔다.
사업의 핵심인 ‘예드림(藝-Dream)홀’은 단순한 수업 공간을 넘어 공연, 전시, 동아리 활동 등 다양한 프로그램이 상시 운영되는 다목적 예술 거점으로 조성된다.
지난해 6월 공모를 통해 선정된 2개 학교에는 설계비와 시설비, 기자재비 등을 포함해 총 6억 4,000여만 원의 예산이 차등 지원된다.
대전시교육청은 학교공간혁신사업과 연계해 수요자의 의견을 설계 단계부터 반영함으로써, 교육과정과 유연하게 호응하는 살아있는 공간을 만들 계획이다.
이와 함께 노후 예술교실에 대한 현대화 작업도 병행된다. 교육청은 지난 2월 공모를 거쳐 초등학교 4교, 중학교 4교, 고등학교 2교 등 총 10개교를 지원 대상으로 확정했다.
선정된 학교에는 각 1,500만 원의 예산이 투입되어 시설 보강이 이뤄진다. 이를 통해 정규 교육과정의 안정성을 확보하는 것은 물론, 방과후학교와 자유학기제 등 학생 중심의 예술 활동이 더욱 활성화될 것으로 기대된다.
