【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=엑스코와 대구마이스산업협회가 23일 대구 엑스코에서 업무협약을 맺고, 대구 MICE 산업의 경쟁력 강화와 지속 가능한 상생 협력 체계 구축에 힘을 모으기로 했다.
양 기관은 이번 협약을 통해 지역 특화 MICE 모델을 함께 발굴·개발하고, 엑스코 서관 2층에 들어서는 ‘대구 마이스 얼라이언스 라운지’ 내에 협회와 회원사가 사용할 수 있는 전용 사무공간과 미팅 공간을 제공할 예정이다. 또 교육과 컨설팅, 공동 마케팅, 해외 진출 지원 등 실질적인 상생사업도 함께 추진한다.
엑스코 측은 이번 라운지가 지역 MICE 기업들의 안정적인 활동 거점으로 자리매김할 수 있도록 네트워크를 강화하고, 전시·컨벤션 기반 서비스와 연계한 관광·비즈니스 모델 등 지역 특화 사업도 시범 운영해 글로벌 경쟁력을 키우겠다는 계획이다.
전춘우 엑스코 대표는 “이번 협약이 대구 MICE 역량을 하나로 모으는 전환점이 될 것”이라며, “엑스코의 인프라와 지원을 모두 활용해 지역 기업들이 세계 시장에 안착할 수 있도록 뒤에서 힘껏 돕겠다”고 강조했다.
김한수 대구마이스산업협회 회장도 “회원사들이 상시로 소통하고 협력할 수 있는 기반이 마련된 만큼, 공동 사업과 해외 진출에서 가시적인 성과를 이끌어내겠다”고 말했다.
이번 협약으로 협회 회원사들이 안정적인 사무·미팅 공간을 확보해 전시와 컨벤션 운영의 효율성과 기동성이 크게 높아질 전망이다. 중장기적으로는 지역 특화 MICE 모델의 성공 사례가 새로운 일자리 창출과 관광객 유치, 기업 매출 증대로 이어질 것이라는 기대감도 커지고 있다.
양 기관은 라운지의 효율적 운영을 위해 단계별 운영 기준과 성과 지표를 마련하고, 운영 협의체를 통해 공정한 공간 배분과 투명한 관리 체계도 갖춰나갈 방침이다.
