이날 배움의 결실을 맺은 이들은 초등과정 2명, 중학과정 9명, 고등과정 수료자 6명 등 총 17명이다. 평균 연령 70세를 넘긴 이들은 대부분 어린 시절 사회적, 경제적 어려움으로 기초 교육의 기회를 얻지 못했던 여성들이다. 수십 년의 세월을 건너 안양시민학교에서 다시 연필을 잡은 이들은 성실한 도전 끝에 마침내 당당한 졸업생이자 작가로서 세상 앞에 섰다.
