SK행복나눔재단과 대전맹학교가 대전 지역 시각장애 학생의 이동권 강화를 위해 보행 교육 확대에 나섰다. 재단은 지난 24일 대전맹학교와 업무협약(MOU)을 체결하고, 학령기 시각장애 학생을 대상으로 한 체계적 보행 교육을 공동 추진하기로 했다.
이번 협약은 재단 내 세상파일팀이 운영 중인 ‘시각장애 아동 보행 교육 프로젝트’의 지역 확장 사업이다. 해당 프로젝트는 흰지팡이 활용 역량을 높이는 교육과정 개발과 보조기기 개선을 병행하며, 개별 학생의 보행 특성을 고려한 1:1 맞춤형 지도를 제공하는 데 초점을 둔다.
2024년 5월 출범 이후 수도권에서 아동과 보호자 31명을 대상으로 교육을 진행했으며, 참여 학생 전원이 기본 보행 기술을 습득하고 2개 이상의 독립 보행 경로를 확보하는 성과를 거둔 바 있다.
