대전시가 시민 참여형 공공디자인을 통해 도시의 정체성과 체류 매력을 강화하겠다는 구상 아래 ‘제18회 공공디자인 공모전’을 연다. 이번 공모는 ‘머무는 도시, 대전’을 주제로, 도시 공간의 질적 전환을 모색하는 데 초점을 맞췄다.
공모는 특정 현안을 반영한 6개 지정 과제와 자유주제로 나뉜다. 지정 과제에는 대전역 서광장 ‘도시비우기’ 사업, 대전 도시철도 2호선(트램) BI 개발, 트램 통과구간 상징가로 특화경관 조성, 스마트 야간경관 디자인, 교각 하부 및 지하차도 안심 환경 구축, 소제동 카페거리 활성화 디자인이 포함됐다. 교통 인프라 확충과 원도심 재생, 보행 안전 개선 등 시정의 핵심 의제를 디자인 관점에서 풀어내겠다는 취지다.
