충남 태안군이 다가오는 정월대보름을 맞아 군민의 안녕을 기원하고 지역 공동체의 결속을 다지는 풍성한 전통 문화 행사를 마련한다.
이를 위해 태안군은 오는 3월 3일, 태안읍 경이정과 태안군민체육관 일원에서 ‘2026년 범군민 중앙대제 및 민속놀이 한마당’을 개최한다고 밝혔다.
이번 행사는 태안의 고유한 전통을 계승하는 동시에 정월대보름 민속놀이를 지역 대표 축제로 육성하기 위해 기획되었다.
행사의 중심인 중앙대제는 과거 백화산에서 거행되던 ‘태일제’에 뿌리를 둔 태안만의 독특한 제례 의식이다. 본래 음력 정월 14일 저녁에 열리던 전통을 이어받아 2009년부터는 정월대보름에 맞춰 군민 전체가 참여하는 대규모 행사로 치러지고 있다.
이날 제례는 오전 9시 액운을 쫓고 복을 부르는 지신밟기로 막을 올린다. 이어 10시부터는 경이정에서 본격적인 제례가 거행된다. 가세로 태안군수가 초헌관을, 전재옥 군의회 의장이 아헌관, 고종남 태안문화원장이 종헌관을 맡아 군민의 무사 안녕과 태안의 번영을 기원하는 술잔을 올릴 예정이다.
제례와 길놀이 공연이 끝난 후에는 참석자 전원이 함께하는 떡국 나눔 행사가 진행된다. 따뜻한 음식을 나누며 이웃 간의 정을 확인하는 이번 자리는 단순한 행사를 넘어 군민 화합의 상징적인 시간이 될 것으로 보인다.
오후부터는 장소를 태안군민체육관으로 옮겨 본격적인 민속놀이 한마당이 펼쳐진다. 윷놀이를 비롯해 제기차기, 투호 등 남녀노소 누구나 즐길 수 있는 다채로운 전통 놀이가 이어져 축제의 흥을 더할 계획이다.
