고양특례시가 학생들의 정서 안정과 생태 감수성 함양을 목적으로 추진하는 '학교 치유텃밭' 사업의 참여 학교 6곳을 최종 선정하고 3월 신학기에 맞춰 본격적인 운영에 돌입한다.
고양시는 26일 경기도농업기술원과 연계한 '학교치유텃밭 조성 및 운영사업'과 '경기도 꿈자람 치유텃밭 운영사업' 참여 학교를 확정했다고 밝혔다.
학교치유텃밭 사업에는 벽제초·상탄초·원당초·성사중 4개교가, 꿈자람 치유텃밭 사업에는 성사고와 경진학교 2개교가 각각 선정됐다.

올해 사업의 가장 큰 특징은 예년보다 크게 앞당겨진 선정 일정이다.
통상 4월에 대상 학교를 선정하던 관례를 깨고, 시는 지난해 12월 공고를 시작해 2월 중 선정을 완료했다.
이달 23~24일에는 보조금 집행 및 운영 절차에 관한 사전 교육까지 마쳐, 선정 학교들이 신학기 시작과 동시에 텃밭 조성과 교육 프로그램을 병행할 수 있는 기반을 갖추게 됐다.
이번 공모에는 학교 현장의 높은 관심이 반영됐다.
학교치유텃밭 사업에 12개교, 꿈자람 치유텃밭 사업에 7개교가 신청해 치열한 경쟁을 펼쳤으며, 고양시 도시농업위원회의 심의를 거쳐 최종 6개교가 확정됐다.
꿈자람 치유텃밭 사업은 특수교육 대상 학생들을 위한 프로그램으로, 단순 농사 체험을 넘어 순회학급 수업 및 진로·직업 프로그램과 연계해 운영된다.
학생들이 농작물을 가꾸는 과정에서 협동심과 책임감을 기르는 동시에, 이를 실질적인 직업 역량으로 연결할 수 있도록 설계된 것이 특징이다.
