진주시, 종량제봉투 위·변조 방지 협약 체결

[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 한국조폐공사와 종량제봉투 위·변조 방지 체계 구축을 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 26일 밝혔다.

이날 협약식에는 조규일 진주시장과 성창훈 한국조폐공사 사장을 비롯한 관계자들이 참석해 종량제봉투의 위조 방지 기술 적용과 안정적 운영 방안을 논의했다.

최근 전국적으로 위조 종량제봉투 유통 문제가 잇따르자, 진주시는 전국 최초로 한국조폐공사의 특허 보안기술을 봉투에 적용해 선제적 대응에 나섰다.

시는 시민이 스마트폰으로 봉투의 정품 여부를 직접 확인할 수 있는 보안 인증 체계를 도입해 유통의 투명성과 행정 신뢰도를 높일 계획이다.

종량제봉투는 보안기술이 적용돼 오는 3월 이후 시중에 공급될 예정이며, 시는 이를 통해 불법 유통 근절과 스마트 자원순환 선도도시 구현에 속도를 낼 방침이다.

조규일 진주시장은 “종량제봉투의 투명한 유통관리는 시민 신뢰와 직결된다”며 “보안기술 도입으로 자원순환 정책의 모범 사례를 만들겠다”고 말했다.

Jinju City announced on the 26th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Korea Minting, Security Printing, and Security Printing Corporation (KOMSCO) to establish a system to prevent counterfeiting and alteration of volume-based waste bags.

At the signing ceremony, Jinju Mayor Cho Gyu-il, KOMSCO President Seong Chang-hoon, and other officials discussed the application of anti-counterfeiting technology to volume-based waste bags and ways to ensure stable operation.

Faced by a recent nationwide surge in counterfeit volume-based waste bags, Jinju City has become the first city in the country to proactively implement KOMSCO's patented security technology into its bags.

The city plans to introduce a security authentication system that allows citizens to directly verify the authenticity of bags using their smartphones, thereby increasing transparency in distribution and administrative trust.

Volume-based waste bags equipped with the security technology are scheduled to be available commercially starting in March. The city aims to accelerate its efforts to eradicate illegal distribution and become a leading smart resource recycling city.
