고양특례시 덕양구 주교동은 지난 25일 밀양박씨규정공파대종회가 관내 저소득층 학생들을 위한 장학금 1,440만 원을 기부했다고 밝혔다.

이번 장학금은 2025년 마을건강복지욕구 설문조사 결과를 바탕으로 추진 중인 아동 토탈케어 사업과 연계해 마련됐으며 지원 대상은 주교동에 거주하는 취약계층 초·중·고 학생 각 12명씩 총 36명이다. 이번 지원을 통해 학생들이 학업을 지속할 수 있는 환경을 조성하고 꿈과 희망을 키울 수 있도록 도울 예정이다.
이번 기부는 단순한 금전적 전달을 넘어 민관 협력을 기반으로 지역사회 아동 복지 안전망을 강화했다는 점에서 의미가 크며 이를 통해 교육 격차를 완화하고 아동의 전인적 성장을 지원하는 계기가 될 것으로 기대된다.
