대전시가 스페인 카탈루냐 주와 손잡고 글로벌 혁신 네트워크 확장에 나섰다.
대전시에 따르면 최성아 대전시 정무경제과학부시장은 26일(현지시각) 카탈루냐 주정부 청사를 방문해 자우메 두크 기요트( Jaume Duch Guillot ) 대외협력부 장관과 만나 양측의 협력 방향을 논의했다.
이번 만남은 대전의 과학기술 역량과 카탈루냐의 유럽형 혁신 생태계를 연계하기 위한 첫 공식 교류 자리다.
두 지역은 모두 과학기술 기반의 혁신산업을 성장축으로 삼고 있다는 점에서 빠르게 공감대를 형성했다. 특히 연구개발(R&D) 인프라, 스타트업 생태계, 대학·연구기관 협력 등 구체 분야별 공동 프로젝트 추진 필요성에 뜻을 모았다.
양측은 향후 실무 협의체를 통해 세부 협력 과제를 도출하고 우선순위를 정해 실행 가능한 사업으로 구체화하기로 합의했다. 이번 회동을 계기로 대전시는 유럽 과학기술 중심도시와의 연계를 넓히며 국제 협력의 무대를 한층 확장할 전망이다.
최성아 부시장은 “과학도시 대전과 혁신도시 카탈루냐가 교류를 강화하면 세계 시장에서 함께 성장할 수 있을 것”이라며 “지속 가능한 협력모델을 만들어 가겠다”고 밝혔다.
