충남도가 1일 도청 문예회관 대강당에서 제107주년 3·1절 기념식을 열고, 선열들의 숭고한 독립정신을 되새겼다.
이번 행사에는 김태흠 충남도지사를 비롯해 보훈단체 관계자, 기관장, 주민 등 1000여 명이 참석하며 순국선열의 희생을 기리고 나라사랑의 의미를 함께 공유했다.
‘힘쎈충남에서 울리는 뜨거운 함성’을 주제로 열린 이날 기념식은 식전 공연을 시작으로 독립선언서 낭독, 만세삼창 등의 순서로 진행됐다. 참석자들은 107년 전 조국의 독립을 위해 몸 바친 선열들의 뜻을 기리며, 자유와 정의가 살아 숨쉬는 대한민국의 미래를 다짐했다.
김태흠 지사는 기념사에서 “107년 전 충남의 선조들이 외쳤던 자주독립의 함성은 단순한 항거가 아니라 시대를 바꾸는 목소리였다”며 “그 함성이 오늘날 국민이 주인인 나라, 자유와 법치가 굳건한 대한민국의 토대가 되었다”고 강조했다.
이어 김 지사는 “3·1절은 우리가 어떤 나라를 지향해야 하는지를 다시금 일깨워주는 날”이라며 “선열들이 꿈꾼 자치와 자율의 정신을 바탕으로, 행정구역 통합 역시 형식이 아닌 진정한 통합으로 완성하겠다”고 밝혔다.
그는 “재정과 권한이양 없는 통합은 껍데기에 불과하다”며 “국가균형발전과 분권형 국가 실현을 위한 정당한 절차와 충분한 숙의가 필요하다”고 덧붙였다.
김 지사는 끝으로 “삼일정신은 자유와 자치, 통합의 뿌리”라며 “충남이 그 정신을 이어받아 백년대계의 길을 열겠다”고 다짐했다.

South Chungcheong Province held a ceremony commemorating the 107th March 1st Independence Movement Day at the main auditorium of the Arts Center in the Provincial Office on the 1st, reflecting on the noble spirit of independence of our forefathers.
