“민주당, 대구·경북 기만 말라…법사위 열어 통합특별법 처리해야”

【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=이인선 국민의힘 대구시당위원장이 더불어민주당을 향해 “즉각 국회 법제사법위원회를 열어 대구·경북 행정통합 특별법을 상정·처리하라”고 강하게 촉구했다.

이인선 위원장은 3일 발표한 성명을 통해 “대구·경북 행정통합은 단순한 지역 현안을 넘어 국가 균형발전과 지역 생존이 걸린 중대한 과제”라며 “그럼에도 더불어민주당이 ‘합의 부족’을 이유로 법안을 미루는 것은 책임을 회피하는 행태”라고 목소리를 높였다.

이 위원장은 또 대구시와 경상북도, 양 시·도의회가 공식적으로 통합 추진 의지를 드러냈고, 국민의힘 역시 당론으로 통합을 확정했다고 강조했다. 그는 “지역의 강한 의지가 이미 확인된 만큼, 법안 처리를 더 이상 늦출 이유가 없다”고 밝혔다.

특히 “광주·전남 통합법은 신속하게 처리하면서 대구·경북 통합법만 미루는 것은 이중적 태도”라며 “이는 공정과 균형 원칙에 어긋난다. 정치적 편향으로 판단을 미루면 국가 균형발전이라는 대의에 큰 걸림돌이 될 것”이라고 비판했다.

이어 “대구·경북 행정통합은 수도권 집중으로 인한 구조적 병폐를 해결하고 지방 소멸을 막기 위한 국가적 구조 개편”이라며 “정치적 셈법에 얽매여 결정을 미루는 것은 미래세대에 대한 직무유기”라고 지적했다.

이 위원장은 국회 법제사법위원회의 즉각 소집과 특별법 상정, 법적·절차적 검토 결과 및 일정 공개, 법안 보류·거부시 사유와 공개 토론 일정 제시 등을 요구했다. 그는 “만약 요구가 받아들여지지 않는다면, 지역민들과 함께 합법적이고 평화적으로 입장을 표명할 것”이라고 덧붙였다.

He continued, "The Daegu-Gyeongbuk administrative integration is a national restructuring aimed at addressing the structural ills caused by the concentration of power in the metropolitan area and preventing the extinction of local regions. Delaying a decision due to political calculations is a dereliction of duty toward future generations."

Chairman Lee demanded the immediate convening of the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee, the introduction of a special law, the disclosure of the results and schedule of the legal and procedural review, and the presentation of reasons for any bill suspension or rejection and a schedule for public discussion. He added, "If my demands are not met, I will legally and peacefully express my position alongside local residents."
