이번 위원회 출범은 저출생·고령화와 수도권 집중 심화로 인한 지역 소멸 위기가 가속화되는 상황에서, 향후 30년을 내다본 지속가능 성장 전략과 중장기 발전 청사진을 수립하기 위한 정책적 출발점이라는 점에서 의미를 갖는다.
경산미래혁신위원회는 산업·고용·복지·벤처·투자 등 분야별 전문가 12명으로 구성됐다. 위원회는 매년 핵심 현안 사업 2~3건을 선정해 집중 논의하고, 단순 자문에 그치지 않고 정책 기획부터 실행, 성과 환류까지 전 과정을 행정과 유기적으로 연계해 운영할 계획이다.
이날 출범식에서는 경산시 주요 현안인 ‘임당 유니콘파크’와 ‘현대 프리미엄 아웃렛’ 사업의 추진 현황이 공유됐으며, 시정 발전 방향에 대한 다양한 정책 아이디어가 제시됐다.
참석 위원들은 행정 통합과 지역 소멸 위기 속에서 지방자치단체의 생존을 위한 혁신 정책의 필요성에 공감하고, 벤처창업 생태계 활성화, 청년 정주 여건 개선, 딥테크 기업 유치 전략 등 전문 분야별 실행 방안을 제안했다.
조현일 경산시장은 “경산미래혁신위원회는 경산시의 미래 방향을 함께 고민하고 실행으로 연결하는 핵심 정책 파트너가 될 것”이라며 “위원들의 전문성과 경험이 시정 전반에 실질적 변화를 이끌어내길 기대한다”고 밝혔다.
경산시는 앞으로 정례 협의와 현장 간담회를 통해 주요 혁신 과제의 이행 상황을 점검하고, 지역 기업과 소상공인 등 현장의 의견을 폭넓게 수렴할 계획이다. 이를 토대로 시민이 체감할 수 있는 혁신 성과를 창출하고 도시 경쟁력을 한 단계 끌어올린다는 방침이다.
