허태정 더불어민주당 대전시장 후보가 대전·충남 행정통합을 둘러싼 국민의힘 소속 광역단체장들의 행보를 ‘시민 기만’으로 규정하며 날을 세웠다.
허 후보는 3일 오후 대전시청 앞 광장에서 열린 ‘매향 5적 규탄 및 대전·충남 통합 결의대회’에 참석해, 통합 논의를 공전시키고 있는 현 시정 권력을 향해 강력한 비판의 메시지를 던졌다.
허 후보는 이날 현장에서 대전·충남 통합이 민선 7기 시장 재임 시절부터 수도권 일극 체제 타파와 지역 생존권 수호를 위해 일관되게 추진해온 자신의 소신임을 분명히 했다. 그는 스스로를 통합의 ‘퍼스트 무버(First Mover)’로 지칭하며 정책적 진정성을 강조했다.
